Mir bauen däin Doheem – come rain or shine

At the start of the year, JANS successfully expanded its presence in a somewhat unexpected area: the weather forecast of broadcaster RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg.

The new project was the brainchild of managing director Steve Jans and head of department Mike Elsen. The Sponsoring Météo Journal RTL Tëlé Lëtzebuerg – to give the ads their official name – run before and after the RTL weather forecast on certain days and at specific times.

The adverts were recorded especially for the sponsorship, showcasing an old farmhouse that has been expertly converted into a holiday let by JANS. Clips include shots from the living room, sauna and modern kitchen with its unique rustic character. The ads vary in length and close with the JANS logo and our slogan: Mir bauen däin Doheem.

“The short videos are underpinned by specially composed music, which we use in all of our adverts as part of our corporate identity,” says Mike Elsen, who played a key role in creating the sponsorship videos. The expert cameraman used to work at RTL, and is well versed in choosing the right shots and angles.

The man behind the lens

“We started working on the weather sponsorship in early 2024,” adds Elsen. “I shot some of those clips myself, and also delved into the archives to put together the finished product.”

The project was rekindled in 2025, with JANS commissioning a production company for the videos. Camera expert Elsen still had a chance to get hands-on with the shoot, filming a number of sequences himself.

Audience feedback

The reception to the ads, which will run on Luxembourg TV until 31 December 2025, has so far been very positive. “People come up to us and commend us on putting together such great projects,” says Steve Jans. “That’s great to hear and is a testament to all the hard work the team put in – be it on the building site or behind the camera lens.”

“It’s a fantastic feeling to see the company you work for on the television,” adds Elsen. “It also helps to foster a greater sense of identity within JANS, too.”
